This art project was all about light. I chose the peacock feather because it reminded me of how pretty but yet not heavy they are. I chose the print art because I liked how the peacock feather looked on it. I chose to do two different colors because the feather itself is not just one color. Mixing two colors made it actually three colors blue, pink, and purple.
I created this art piece because it reminded me of my grandma's farm. She use to always raise peacocks and I remember picking them off of the ground. I use to have picked up handfuls of the feathers and remembering how light they were no matter how many you picked up. This art work was quite hard to do, because I had to dig out a lot but still make it look thin. I messed up on a few pieces but in the end I liked how it turned out.
I really liked this art piece in the end. It reminds me of my past and how free it use to be. It also reminds me of my sisters wedding when the hall was all decorated with peacock feathers. I was in charge of all the feathers and placing them on the tables. When I look at this piece I imagine dropping the feather from high above and how lightly it would fall down.
